Focus on Annie Duke
Annie Duke may not have earned her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most feared poker competitors at the live action games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker bracelet came with success at the "buried game" of Omaha hi/lo.
While players from the "younger generation" of poker run wild after a huge win at the tables, Annie goes back home to be "mom" to her four children. She grew up in New Hampshire and raised into a family of card competitors. If you do not accept that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to gamble on the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has succeeded at her cut of difficult tables, including eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They’re both players that have the skill to acquire the huge $$$$$ and do it with a grin.
Annie is a tough competitor at any table considering that she is a true poker player, but it is a bit more than simply being great at the game. Annie is extremely intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she took a double major in Psychology and English.
When you sit across from her at the table you will see Annie Duke is there to play the game and she starts "sizing" you up from the time you approach the poker table. If you can’t bet like a winner, then don’t bother.
Earning over 3 million dollars in tournament competitions, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to enhance his talents and develop into a force at the poker table.
You might catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you will observe her on TV and you might even play against her in a net poker game, but do not count on a simple win. Except of course you are a camp-in-the-making, you will not beat her. Although, it’d be exciting to say you played at the at the table with "The Duke".
