When will You Going to Learn that Holdem Poker is All About Position!
I’ve been wagering poker now for about five years, I have played cards my entire life beginning with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various forms of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so eloquently called, card on head casino game. I used to always win, whatever game we were playing and although I liked to call it skill, it was quite hard to justify thinking about the randomness of the games we were betting, so I was over joyed to accept I was having a protracted run of luck.
Then came Poker, or much more importantly Hold’em Poker, made famous by a bunch of Texas card gamblers in the sixties and since grown into one of the biggest card phenomena ever seen. Poker is totally the new black, it can be ultra cool with numerous of the world’s top celebrities racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick scan through the TV channels these days and you’ll be able to not escape from poker, and of course there’s the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for each single player.
So with all of this fresh found recognition, with so a lot of Television shows devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves filled up with high quality material written by the leading minds on poker, when are people going to learn that this game is all about position!?
Perhaps I really should not have so worked up about this, after all the additional individuals who wrestle with the delicate tactics and methods needed for succeeding consistently at Holdem, the much better it’s for everyone else, right? I mean, if they cannot be troubled to look at all of the obtainable information about why position is so essential, why must we bother? We need to just be glad there’s another fish at the table!
It’s true, we must not reward procrastination with advice and aid. Even so, I liken this to a friendly casino game of football. Naturally the levels are not so good, except when you see a player struggling, you assist them, offer them several advice, ultimately showing them a way to enjoy, love and be thankful for the game as much as you. I’m askin all home players to do exactly the same thing with their poker buddies who have not quite grasped the nuances of playing position. Aid them to grow their respect for the casino game. Obviously, don’t attempt to try this one in your community betting house, the sharks won’t take pleasure in you teaching their lunch how to swim!
