Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years many types on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other players receive 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the bank. After the wager is the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a sum equal to the ante. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pony’s up cash even with your bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
