Caribbean Poker Rules and Tricks

Web poker has become globally famous lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variations on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course every one of the different players acquire five cards each. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must either make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s amount is akin to your original wager, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your wager goes immediately to the casino. After the wager is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with an amount equal to the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The dealer pays out cash even with your wager and controlled expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
