Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers anywhere in the world. While participating in internet poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world at times. The best players in the world could be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found wagering on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
