Web poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier announcing "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the house and of course every one of the different players receive five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you have to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your beginning wager, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with an amount on par with the original bet. If the casino does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your wager and set expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
